The main theme of the competition is

“Sustainable Architecture and The Built Environment for The Ummah (Mankind)”

The aim is to invite new ideas in architecture and the built environment in a multi-disciplinary approach. The focus of the submission should be on how sustainable architecture and the built environment can improve the well-being of The Ummah (Mankind) in any public or social spaces such as housing, healthcare, education, the workplace or in an urban setting.

Students participating in this competition are required to submit ideas that propagate sustainable architecture and the built environment within their community in any one of the following eight (8) subthemes:

1.      Islamic Neighbourhood and Urbanism

2.      Security and Gated Community

3.      Ecology and the Built Environment

4.      Communal Buildings and Outdoor Spaces

5.      Energy Efficient Building

6.      Building Material and Conservation

7.      Environmental Friendly Design

8.      Others (Please specify)
